COMMENTS ABOUT PUMPING:
Some people unexpectedly find themselves separated from a natural nursing experience with their newborn baby during the early hours, days and/or weeks following birth.

There can be many reasons for these kind of
unexpected interruptions which can include things like a premature birth, a baby who is receiving special care in a hospital intensive care nursery (NICU), a baby who is not yet repeatedly latching correctly and/or efficiently, significant jaundice,
a baby who continues to lose weight despite seemingly good nursing, or extremely painful breasts and/or nipples when nursing.
Starting at birth, the hours, days and weeks that follow are a very important time as mom's body, breast and brain work together to establish a successful lactation for the newborn baby.

One of the best ways to establish a plentiful milk supply during this critical time period is to keep the breast stimulated using an industrial-strength, "hospital" grade breastpump. These type of
pumps are very costly (over $2,000) and are usually not purchased or provided by insurance. They are rented for only the amount of time needed until milk supply has become well established. Then, one can switch to using a
personal pump to maintain their pumping goals.

Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own.
